Our site has recently been targeted by automated spamming devices which have inserted viruses into our comments. To make that more difficult in the future, we have instituted sign-in security requiring the commenter replicate a pattern of letters prior to placing a comment. This protects our site as well as you.

Argh! That happened to me as well. I thought I was ok by having to approve all comments but I was rejecting all these comments and here I thought I just had a popular blog lol. Oh well. I started doing the same thing you have. I hope everyone understands. You have to weed out the ruffians!
